What we sell
Sealed name-brand pantry groceries — protein bars, coffee creamer, snack foods — that grocery chains and distributors couldn't move before their printed best-by date came up. We buy those pallets, warehouse them dry at room temperature in Brooklyn, and pass 60–80% savings on to you.
Is past-best-by food safe?
Yes. The FDA and USDA are explicit: with the sole exception of infant formula, dated food does not become unsafe once the printed date passes. Best-by is a manufacturer's peak-quality window, not a safety deadline. Surplus and salvage grocery stores have been a legitimate part of the US food system for decades — we're the online version of that model.
How we're different from a grocery store
We put the best-by date on the hero photo of every product. We disclose it three times on each product page. Nothing is hidden — the entire reason our prices are what they are is the date on the case.
What we won't sell
- Infant formula (the FDA's only dated exception)
- Refrigerated or frozen items past their date
- Damaged, punctured, or opened packages
- Products where the printed date is not visible on the unit
