About Past Dates Steals
Past Dates Steals is a closeout grocery outlet run by ML Wholesale LLC out of a warehouse in Brooklyn, New York. We buy sealed, name-brand pantry products that distributors and retailers need to clear, and we sell them online at a fraction of the shelf price.
What we sell
Sealed name-brand pantry groceries: protein bars, coffee creamer, candy, and snack foods that grocery chains and distributors couldn't move before the printed best-by date came up. We buy those pallets, store them dry at room temperature, and pass the savings on to you.
What "past best-by" means here
A best-by date is the manufacturer's estimate of peak quality for a sealed, shelf-stable product. It is not an expiration. Past that window, texture and flavor can drift: a bar may be a little firmer, a cracker a little less crisp. That is the trade, and it is the only reason our prices are what they are.
How we're different from a grocery store
We put the date status in the product title, and the printed best-by date in a date field and in photos whenever we have it in hand. Nothing is hidden. If a listing says "past best-by," the date has passed; if it says "short-dated," there is still time left on the clock and we tell you how much.
What we won't sell
- Infant formula or baby food of any kind
- Anything that needs refrigeration or freezing
- Damaged, punctured, or opened packages
- Products where the printed date is not visible on the unit
